Jan Ralske (b. 1959, USA) lives and works in Berlin. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). With his graduation film NOT A LOVE SONG he won the 1998 German Film Critics' Award for Best Feature Film of the Year. In 2000 he was European Filmmaker-in-Residence at Villa Aurora, Santa Monica, California and in 2017/18 a scholarship holder with a theatrical project at Villa Tarabya, Istanbul. He also worked as a visiting lecturer at USC, UCLA (USA), the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and Lette Verein (Berlin).

His film projects, which range from video art to documentary film and feature films, have been screened in numerous film festivals - i.a. Berlinale, Locarno, Rotterdam - and exhibitions - including Berlin Biennale, KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin, Modern Art Oxford, Gwangju Biennial, Kunsthalle Mainz, Barcelona Loop.

For more than 20 years, Jan Ralske worked with Harun Farocki on all his films since 1995. He also collaborated with artists such as Monica Bonvicini, Armin Linke, the group Stalker (Rome), David Levine (Berlin) and the Atelier d'Architecture Autogérée (Paris).

Antje Ehmann is a curator, author and artist. She lives and works in Berlin.
