Jeremy Shaw works in a variety of media to explore altered states and the cultural and scientific practices that aspire to map transcendental experience. In 2018, he was awarded a residency at the Hammer Museum, LA, and was the winner of the Sobey Art Award in 2016. Shaw has exhibited his films, sculptures and installations extensively around the world, including solo exhibitions at MoMA PS1, US, Schinkel Pavillon, DE, and MOCA, CA, and in group exhibitions such as the 57th Venice Biennale, Manifesta 11, CH, Stedelijk Museum, NE, MASS MOCA, US, and Palais de Tokyo, FR. Works by Shaw are held in numerous public collections worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art, NY, Centre Pompidou, FR and The National Gallery of Canada. In 2020, Jeremy Shaw will have a solo exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, FR.
