The Tallest

Rebecca Ann Tess (*1980) is an artist based in Berlin.

Tess studied fine arts at the University of the Arts, Berlin, Chelsea College of Art and Design, London as well as at the Städelschule, Frankfurt am Main, where she graduated.

In her current project »Alpha++«, Tess takes high-rise architecture and global cities in general as case studies for power structures in the neoliberal age with means of photography and video.

Recently her works were on display with solo shows including Alpha++ at Philipp von Rosen Galerie, Cologne (2016); Upper, Space One, Seoul (2016); 12x12 IBB-video space at Berlinische Galerie (2016); Home Time Show Time at Figge von Rosen Gallery, Berlin (2013); Container at basis, Frankfurt am Main (2013) and “It takes a company to make art great”, lampione, Frankfurt am Main (2012). Selected group exhibitions include Stadtansichten, Heidelberger Kunstverein (2018); On the Possibility of Life in Ruins, Museum Huset for Kunst og Design, Holstebro (2017); Collection presentation, LWL-Museum for Art and Culture, Münster (2016); Monitoring, 32.
